Position Summary:
The Database Administrator will deliver comprehensive database services to customers through our Managed Services department. This role encompasses database monitoring and alerting, sizing and implementation, performance tuning and consulting—specifically regarding how cli software interacts with the database—backup and recovery processes, and potential database migration tasks. The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a database administrator within a Managed Services department of an enterprise software company and will excel at collaborating remotely with diverse clients.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Administer databases for customers as part of Managed Services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
- Set up new customer databases and ensure proper configuration.
- Optimize performance and manage live production databases.
- Provide consulting and recommendations on database sizing and configuration to enhance performance and scalability.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise software environment.
- Proficient in administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases is a plus
- Highly self-motivated, with strong attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong customer service orientation, with a commitment to client satisfaction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in the maritime or logistics industry is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with Navis Terminal Operating System (TOS) is a significant plus.
- Proven experience in working within distributed virtual teams.
